New School Visit – Claremont School

Had the pleasure of visiting one of the lesser known independent schools in England earlier today.

Whilst it may  be lesser known, we had heard very good things about Claremont School so we wanted to go and see  for ourselves.

Our tour was conducted by the Head of International Marketing and Recruitment who was very enthusiastic and proud of the school which is always a good indicator. He was very happy to show everything they had and took us on an extensive and detailed tour.

The first thing that strikes you as you enter the school grounds is the sense of order and calm that pervades the campus. This is a very well run school I found myself thinking immediately. The reason why became clear during the course of the tour.

Significant investment in the school buildings is evident, there are recently built 6th Form and Sports Centres. There is also a new all-weather pitch scheduled to be added next year.

The Theatre was equally well equipped with state of the art lighting and sounds systems, preparations were under way for a drama performance during our visit.

There is also a new but already impressive Football Academy run by a UEFA licensed professional coach. Not only football but they have a Swimming Academy too.

The Boarding House is one of the most charming and well presented that we have seen recently and expertly run. I would be happy to live there!

Currently the International Boarders only number 48 students and as a result they are well integrated with the English students getting a very rich British Boarding Schools experience. Such a small number of International Boarders makes Claremont School a little unique among Independent Schools in England

The student to teacher ratio is very low resulting in a lot of attention for individual students. While the school is non-selective with its intake the Headmaster is very involved and interviews and assesses all pupils himself before they can be accepted.

What he looks for above everything else is the right ‘attitude’. The right ‘attitude’ is harnessed and moulded to make students who get excellent exam results whatever their ability.

So this is just a quick snapshot of what Claremont School has to offer. A dedicated page will be added to the site soon here with more informtion but if this sounds like a school that would suit your child then get in touch with us today.
