With the Olympics in full swing it seems like a good time to highlight  one of the best Sports Boarding School in England.

Millfield School has historically provided more Olympians to Team GB than any other Boarding School in the country.  Therefore the 2016 Olympics are no exception with Millfield School providing 6 students and alumni.

Furthermore Millfield School has also coached Olympians from New Zealand and Ireland.

  • Cameron Kurle – 200m Freestyle Swimmer.
  • James Guy – 200m Freestyle Swimmer and 4 x 200m & 4 x 100m Medley Relay Swimmer.
  • Helen Glover – Women’s Pair Rower.
  • Ollie Lindsay-Hague – Rugby 7’s.
  • Jazmin Sawyers – Women’s Long Jump.
  • Simon Mantell – Men’s Hockey.

Other Olympians

  • Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe – Pentathlon – Ireland
  • Nikki Hamblin – Women’s 1500m & 5000m – New Zealand.

Millfield School doesn’t just send Olympic athletes to the Rio 2016 games, they send coaching staff too:

  • Director of Swimming (Team GB) – Jol Finck
  • Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing (Ireland) – Tristan Parris
