Buckswood School

Buckswood School considers itself a traditional British boarding school but has a strong family ethos for both its UK and International students.  The school is located in beautiful countryside near the historical town of Hastings, less than 2 hours from Central London.

Buckswood is home to 200 full-time boarders, from over 46 different international countries whilst the remaining 200 are local day pupils, giving the school an attractive 50% British representation in the classroom.Traditional British Boarding School
Buckswood School is also unique in the UK in offering a full-time Football Academy throughout the academic year, run by a UEFA qualified coach and youth development specialist who has worked with existing professional footballers.
The school’s owner and Headmaster, Mr. Giles Sutton, lives on the campus and considers the students and staff as part of the ‘Buckswood Family’ a genuine atmosphere that pervades the school. However traditional British boarding school standards are upheld where students must wear uniform, there is a prefect system and students are urged strongly towards their ultimate potential.
Buckswood is a small school by UK standards, intentionally so. It is a school where all the teachers know all of the pupils, where all of the pupils know each other.
Where the Headmaster Mr Giles Sutton and Head Teacher, Mr. Mark Redsell, know all of the students personally. It is that attention to personal detail that sets this traditional British Boarding School apart from the rest.
The school’s Latin motto, Ad Vitam Paramus, translates as Preparation For Life. Buckswood School wants its pupils to achieve academically but just as important is that they leave Buckswood as well rounded young adults.
